American Le Mans Series racecar driver Duncan Ende stopped by Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital on April 11 to build pine wood derby cars and bond with the young patients. He was in town for April 14’s ALMS race at the 2012 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
He was a guest of the Austin Hatcher Foundation, which works to bring diversionary therapy to children with cancer at local hospitals.
Ende, who drives for Dempsey Racing, which is co-owned by actor Patrick Dempsey, shared tips on customizing the pine wood derby cars.
